Our story

Liz, from Maumere Flores, started Sten Lodge eco Homestay in 2018 and opened Dapur Tara Flores Restaurant in 2019. First it was a place to live in the traditional Flores way. Every morning a trip to the river for a morning bath. The food came from the organic gardens. This was a wonderful experience. This experience Liz now wants to share with others.

Liz has a bachelor degree in International Tourism and Hospitality Management. Adding to that, she has studied midwifery at University in Indonesia. Liz is an experienced school teacher. She also teaches traditional Indonesian dances. Her passion is to combine what she learnt in school with what mother nature offers.
